Subscribing to Weight Watchers Online
After the birth of Lisa's daughter, Keira, she was feeling low about her weight – as she'd gained 3st during the pregnancy. A friend was following Weight Watchers Online and Lisa could see it was working. She thought it would be the perfect option for herself. "I didn't have time to go to a meeting with a baby, so signed up online," she says.

Prior to having Keira, Lisa had lost weight on another weight loss plan, but blames most of her weight gain on introducing carbohydrates back into her diet. "When I started eating bread and potatoes, the weight just piled on."

Lisa quickly got to grips with Weight Watchers Online and found it suited her needs.

She didn't want to cut any food group from her eating habits, so decided to follow the POINTS® Plan. She looked forward to getting into work and filling in her POINTS Tracker. "I did this first thing in the morning so I knew how many POINTS values I had for the day ahead." Having all the tools in one place was appealing. She says: "I love the POINTS Calculator so I can work out POINTS for anything."

The Meal Ideas were helpful as they gave her ideas for dinner, and she is a big fan of the recipes - and has taken some from the Website to try out.

Lisa had a system whereby during the week she would be disciplined in what she ate, and at the weekend she would 'chill out', without going overboard.

Tracking Her Weight
She weighs herself Saturday mornings. "I loved logging my weight in the Weight Tracker and seeing how I was doing in the Progress Charts." As an extra motivator, she printed out her progress chart and kept it on her desk.

Her determination certainly attributed to her success. If there were cream cakes on offer at her work, and she knew she would feel guilty about having one, she would say 'no'.

One thing that didn't change was her social life. "A night out with the girls was usually followed by a late night burger and chips," says Lisa, but this didn't hinder her progress. "Even if I'd been out drinking on Friday night, I would always go and weigh myself on Saturday morning."

Things did become trickier when her POINTS allowance was reduced, but Lisa found ways to deal with this by eating lots of zero POINTS allowance foods like salads and veg.

Exercise helped her weight loss. Every morning she did an aerobics video. "I got up early to do this and noticed my arms and legs became more toned." Next on her agenda is to join a gym. There is one near her work, so she plans to call in on her way home for 30-40 minutes.

When Lisa hit a milestone she rewarded herself. "I'd buy myself clothes or treat myself to a pasty or have a Chinese take-away."

She lost 3st 8lbs in 6 months. "I've now got a size 8 pair of jeans – that is a great feeling!"

Lisa's Top Tip:

  • Make sure you keep track of your daily POINTS allowance and if you want a treat, try to choose something that won't make you go over. There is always something tasty you can have that won't break the bank balance!

Lisa is wearing a red top from Kays Catalogue, sandals and bangles from New Look. Jeans model's own.
